DNS Troubleshooting for Mobile Devices
Summary
Recent DNS-related connectivity issues affected various FieldRoutes platforms, and some mobile devices may still be experiencing issues due to how carriers handle mobile data.
If anyone is still having issues on MOBILE, please try these steps:
Solution #1: Restart Mobile Device
Try restarting the mobile devices to resolve the DNS connectivity issues.
Solution #2: iOS Devices
If issues persist on an iOS Device (iPhone or iPad), please install this third-party app to use Google DNS to trust and access PestRoutes:
- Download DNS Changer – Trust DNS app to the device from the Apple AppStore
- Click on Change DNS on the bottom left
- Select Custom Servers
- Click “+”
- On the name, type: google, and for the IP type: 8.8.8.8
- Click Activate
- Navigate back to the main screen
- Click on the main red button in the middle of the screen
- A prompt will ask for permission to create a VPN. Say YES.
Solution #3: Android Devices
If you’re having issues on an ANDROID device, then you can install this third-party app to use Google DNS to trust and access PestRoutes:
- Download and install DNS Changer from the GooglePlay store
- Open the app and tap the option under choose a DNS provider.
- Use the predefined DNS addresses of Google DNS.
- Tap START
