Cancellation Reasons

Summary

This preference configures Cancellation Reasons. New reasons can be added, or existing reasons can be edited here. An extensive list of cancellation reasons can clarify why customers are canceling and determine what can be improved within the company to prevent current and future cancellations.

Accessing Cancellation Reasons in Preferences

To access Cancellation Reasons in Preferences, go to:

Admin > Preferences > Customer Preferences > Cancellation Reasons.

Filtering Cancellation Reasons in Preferences

The following filters can filter Cancellation Reasons:

  • Global
    • All: View all cancellation reasons.
    • Specific to Office: View cancellation reasons specific to the user’s office for users with multiple offices.
    • Available to All Offices: View cancellation reasons available to all offices for users with multiple offices.
  • Visible
    • All: View all hidden and visible cancellation reasons.
    • Visible: View only visible cancellation reasons.
    • Hidden: View any hidden cancellation reasons.
  • System
    • All: View all custom and system-defined cancellation reasons.
    • Yes: View only system-defined cancellation reasons.
    • No: Hide all system-defined cancellation reasons.

The filters will automatically refresh the view when changed.

Adding/Editing a Cancellation Reason in Preferences

To add a new Cancellation Reason, select + Cancellation Reason or select Edit to change an existing condition Template.

  • Reason: Add or edit a cancellation reason.
  • Visibility: Set the visibility to either Visible or Hidden. Note that if a reason is hidden, it cannot be selected as an option presented when canceling a customer.
  • Global: Set the visibility as office-specific or global, which means all branches can see the new cancellation reason.
  • System: Shows if the reason is system defined.

Where are cancellation reasons used?

Cancellation reasons are used in multiple cancellation reports. The Reporting tab contains a Cancellation, Cancellation Reinstatement, and a Cancellation Subscription report.
